Date night with Dad and Mom

Daddy had a really hard week this week with both early mornings and late nights at work on top of his summer school class... SO we decided to take a little break on all go out on a date together. We went to get some yummy pizza at Mellow Mushroom and it was DELICIOUS!

I love your sweet smile in this picture little boy. You have taken a liking to the camera and every time I whip it out now you always find it and smile... well most of the time. I guess you have seen it so many times EVERY single day of your life that you have now become familiar with it :)
And because I am always the one behind the camera you and I dont have that many pictures together sadly! So here we are... and no you arent looking because Daddy isnt quite as good at getting you to look and smile as I am just yet :)

I put you in your two piece basketball outfit today and boy did it make you look so big!

You are still having lots of tummy time each day to work on your neck muscles but today I decided to give you a new change of scenery....

in your exersaucer!!

I wasnt really sure if you were big enough for it or not but of course you are and that makes me somewhat sad bc you are growing up too fast!
Look at you talking to Mr. Puppy Dog :)

and look your feet touch the bottom! what a big boy you are!!

The wonderful onesie

Your Daddy and I had the conversation today about the onesie and wandered if one day you would be made that you wore a one piece outfit all the time that showed off those wonderful chubby legs. Oh well... dont worry all the other babies will be embarrassed too :)

We have been missing Daddy this week, and the last 3 weeks for that matter because he is in summer school and having to stay at work late. Today we paid him a visit and then went and ran some errands.
We all three cant wait until 12.18.09 because thats Daddy's graduation day :)

Mommy and Me

Today you wore your Mommy and Me outfit in honor of it being just me and you hanging out all day. Well I take that back we did get to go on a walk with your friend Henry and his mom Jen, so that was fun. But other than that it was just me and you kid :)

My little man always wanting to stand up now

I will forever treasure these days when you are young and we can do nothing all day but just hang out and play and snuggle together!

Here is a shot of you in your baby burrito as we call it. You still love being swaddled thus far so we still will continue to do it until you grow out of them :)

Monday Monday

Today Mommy decided that it was time to actually put you on a daily schedule. You have been on somewhat of one for awhile now, cycling from eating, awake time to sleep, however I was ready to know from day to day when all of that would take place. In the past I had just let you start that days cycle with when you woke up that day, normally between 630-730... BUT now your day starts at 8:00am :)

You did SO well for your very first day and we hit all of the feeding times right on track: 8:00, 11:00, 2:00, 5:00, 8:00! And you went right down for bed after your last feeding at 8:45!!! I knew you would do fine because like I said before you were used to the 3 hour time frames but Mommy was just being lazy and hadnt felt the need to make every day the same so that you have more of a automatic clock. Now lets just pray for consistency!!

Here is your typical day thus far:
8:00- feeding time
8:30-9:30 activity time (have morning chat with mom and play while she eats breakfast)
9:30-11:00- down time (we take a walk and you fall asleep in the stoller)
11:00- feeding time
11:30-12:30/1:00- activity time (tummy time and activity mat)
1:00-2:00- down time- in the crib hopefully sleeping
2:00- feeding time
2:30-3:30- activity time
3:30-5:00- down time (usually your best napping time)
5:00- feeding time
5:30-8:00 Daddy time (play, read books, bath, etc)
8:00- feeding time
8:30- bedtime
and then more than likely up 2 times in the night... this is the part mommy is working on eliminating ha!

When Daddy got home you guys had bath time!! He makes sure to clean every inch of you so you dont ever have to worry about being dirty because he is very thorough :)

You are looking a little scared in this picture but you were happy I promise ha!

3 months old

Today you celebrated being 3 months old by wearing your first tie to church. I thought you were too darn cute for sure and evidently you liked it a lot too! After church we went over to Papaw Micah and Aunt Haley's house to hang out and have lunch. They love being with you and practicing for their own baby that will be here in February! We are secretly hoping its a girlfriend for you :)

I really am amazed at how much you have grown this last month. You are definitely not just an tiny baby anymore that lays around and sleeps- far from it! You love to sit up, stand up, babble babble babble and babble some more! You are so much fun interacting with us now and you have developed quite the personality. You are such a big boy!!!

what you are into at 3 months:

-doing great holding your head up at tummy time
- love playing with toys (mainly chewing on them and talking to them)
- enjoy when mommy and daddy read you books
- laugh at us when we kiss on your neck or belly
- scream high pitched screams
- eat every 3-4 hours (5 ounces)
- napping in your crib, and doing better at not crying when we put you down
-getting up on average twice at night but can sleep up to 7 hours if you are in the swing
-estimated 15 pounds
-wearing size 1 diapers and 0-3 months but soon to move on up

Biking and Shopping!

Today we went down to Smithfield to meet Daddy, Uncle Phil and Micah after they rode their bikes. Me, you and Aunt Haley decided to shop at the outlets until they got there and you rode in your umbrella stroller for the very first time! Another reason that you have become such a big boy!!!

Here are the biking dudes after there 60 mile ride. We celebrated with lunch at Cracker Barrel :)

with Aunt Haley and Baby Messersmith

and look how studly you are in your plaid shorts!!!

You seemed to have liked the stroller pretty well as you even fell asleep while we were shopping.

Once we got home we all 3 relaxed after a busy morning/afternoon. You gave us both your very first laugh out loud when Daddy was blowing on you.. but as soon as Mommy went to get the camera the laughs stopped of course. The video is still cute anyways :)

Small victories

Last night we put you down at 8:30 and you got up at 11:00 and then again at 12:30. Mommy knew when she saw that you were wide awake at 12:30 that it was going to be a long night so she decided to let you sleep in your swing to see how long you would go. Sure enough you slept until 7:30am! See I knew you could make it through buddy... now if we can just get you to do that in your crib :)

Crib time went better today. The first time you just cried for 15 minutes and then slept for about 40. The second time you cried again for 15 minutes but only slept 25 min. Small victories still are good though! And notice how much you love holding on to your puppy blanket. I think he will be a best friend for life!

The rest of the day we just spent playing together. I am so thankful that you enjoy floor time and are beginning to learn how to pacify yourself :)

Sleep wars

Today I decided that you no longer needed to be taking your naps in the swing during the day. I am thinking that because you arent in your crib enough, it is harder for you to go to sleep on your own without the rocking of the swing, and therefore when you wake up at night you wont go back to sleep unless you eat. You didnt do that bad for you first "crib time" which we are now calling it instead of nap time. I dont really care if you sleep or not as long as you are in there for an hour.. so you decided you wanted to play for the first 30 minutes and then you got mad and cried for the other 30 not sleeping at all. I'm hoping you will do better tomorrow when we try again :)

Last night you went down for sleep at 8:30 and then got up at 1:00 and 4:30 and then stayed awake for good at 7:30. (this is about average for you right now- up twice at night)

When Daddy got home you guys went out to check on our garden as it is your routine thing to do together and look what you came back with.. a jalapeno pepper!!! You were so proud :)

After dinner you guys were playing on the couch. You are doing so much now when we play with you and often will talk back to us or even chuckle.

Missing Daddy

You sure are loving having toys hanging from your car seat now. The first 3 months you didnt pay any attention to them so I just took them off because they got in the way, but now you love them and they are back in action! Look at you attacking Mr. Froggie!

This week Daddy is in summer school and has to have long hours at work so we miss him SO much! We like to go visit him while he is there to help brighten up his long day... and how could he not be happy getting to see your cute face :)

just a chillin with Dad at the office

A day with Jonathan David

Today me and you went with Jonathan David and his Nana to the doctor for his one month check up. His Mommy was in class and could no go with us but he did really good with his shots!

Once we got home Elizabeth was done and we had a time taking pictures of you boys together. You two are almost exactly 8 weeks apart.

I think you were mad at him for getting in your space here ha!

Makes Momma realize how big you are now because it wasnt too long ago that you were his size!

LONG gas filled night

Last night you went down at 830 and were up at 1100, 130, 230, 400 and then wide awake at 515! Whew boy you wore Momma out for sure but I felt bad for you because you had such bad gas that it was keeping you awake. Needless to say we spent most of the day napping to catch up on our lack of sleep...

And dont worry I am not mad- it was my fault because I ate slaw and the cabbage gave you the gas, or so we think. PLUS, who could be mad at a precious face like that? :)

reaching for your new toys

12 weeks old!

You are 12 weeks old today! This picture really cracks me up because you have your hand on Sojo's shoulder and it looks like you are saying, "Hey Mom, just sitting here with my buddy Sojo!"

Today you went to nursery for the very first time. All the sweet women who work in there have been dying for you to come, but Daddy likes to hold you so normally I cant pull you away. Here you are with Mrs Lula. They said you did great!

Driving around with Uncle Phil

This morning your Daddy and Uncle Phil did 60 miles on the back in preparation for the big ride in September! After they got home we decided that we all needed to get out of the house so we went riding around. We ended up at the mall, and then downtown Raleigh. We had dinner at Red, hot and blue, which was a first for us all.

My favorite part of the day was hearing you talk to Uncle Phil in the back seat. You loved having company back there ha!

Here is a video showing some babble, however of course you stopped mostly once I got the camera out :)

SS card and ABC's

We have continued to work on your neck muscles with tummy time and you are doing great! You have taken an interest in your toys now and always put everything directly in your mouth ha!

For the most part during the days you nap in your swing, but sometimes you will fall asleep with Mommy on the couch.. I like to snuggle :)

Here you are making your owl face. Your newest cooing sound that you now do all the time is "who who". Mommy calls you her little hoot owl!

Look who is now officially a US citizen! You got your social security card in the mail today so it was your first piece of mail addressed to Mr. Griffin Jonah Isham.

Once Daddy got home from work he played with you during your tummy time. Here you guys are singing your ABC's. (He has sang this to you since the day you were born.. wanting to start you young learning them ha!)

Mommy's biggest fan

Tonight Mommy had her first softball game and you were there with Daddy to cheer me on! It had definitely been awhile since I had played but softball is one of my oldest loves so it was so fun to have you there watching me :)

Who do you look like?

Our visitors left today so it was the first day its been just me and you in awhile. Mommy did laundry and cleaned up the house while you were very busy playing with your new toys....
and you learned that you have a voice! It is not uncommon for you to now scream at the top of your lungs just so you can see how high of an octave you can reach :)

again EVERYTHING goes straight into your mouth. Thats your way of checking it out :)
Cici brought some baby pictures of Mommy so we could compare to see if you look like her. I will try to get pictures of Daddy on here soon too.
So what do you think? Favor Mommy in any way??

Just cant take enough pictures!

More play time with Cici this morning.. oh and you let mommy sleep in until 10!!! Yahoo :)

And of course we went shopping again... here you and Aunt Rach are taking a snack break in the dressing room :)

Aunt Jessica loved holding you as well! But for some reason you cried when you were with her... could it have been that she clang a big dinner bell and it scared you? hahah

After dinner we decided to head over to the seminary to take some good pictures of you and everyone. It is not everyday that your Cici and Rach want to take pictures so Mommy was so happy. I think they turned out so good!!!
